Plasmovision Shopping Network - Blades '68 (Session 2)
After making off with the Alluvium, the gang finds itself back at home with much wreckage left in their wake. When they arrive at the bowling alley, they notice that a man in a white robe standing outside. His name is Starlight and in his soft voice, he tells each one of them that this flower he hold is connected with their destiny.
Starlight gives Twiggy a giant snapdragon from the dagger isles, Keith receives a rose, Helena a tiger Lilly, and Dok a nightshade. It seems the Old North Port Preservation Society is setting up shop in Crowfoot.
The gang then goes bowling to blow off some steam.
Downtime
Some time later, Helena kills some time watching her favorite shows on the Plasmovision set, and starts to fixate on a particular face cream that is infused with gold. She also convinces her old flame Lyle to help her start fixing up Millicent, her little yellow jalopy.
Twiggy paid a visit to Lord Scurlock and learned that he is trying to reunite with Settarra, his demonic patron, and that the Strelai are responsible for her disappearance. He said he was not familiar with the Red Queen. Later on, Twiggy and her friend Warley played mind games with people in the park.
Keith had dinner with Tailor, his handler from the Tomorrow Program. While Tailor got up, Keith tried rummaging through Tailor’s pockets for some intel but was caught. Tailor is starting to get fed up with his asset and might need to bring him in soon. Keith insinuated that he may have some precious goods to offload, which gets Tailor’s attention.
Dok, wearing his loudest and most expensive vest, lost his cool while he was hanging out at his favorite academic salon, when he started bragging to his rival Penny that she surely had never even seen alluvium much less come into contact with it. For a team trying to keep a low profile, this might be a problem. Dok also started a mysterious experiment in his room within the bowling alley by siphoning some of the stolen alluvium.
The Score
After weighing all their options, the gang decided to stage a robbery of the Plasmovision Shopping Network’s warehouse that’s located right off The Docks. Helena had her eyes set on the gold infused face cream, and Silk set the crew up with a map to help navigate the maze of the warehouse.
Things immediately go wrong, and Keith and Helena’s frontal assault quickly turns into an all out brawl that raises an alarm. Meanwhile, Twiggy and Dok had already made their way inside to find out that their map was for a different warehouse, so they will have to do some searching to find the goods.
A well-timed stun grenade takes care of the remaining guard outside the building, and the crew makes it inside. Unfortunately, no sooner than when Twiggy and Dok find a vantage point to spot the secured section of the warehouse they feel the warm glow of Plasmovision. Banks of TVs light up throughout the warehouse and a pair of eyes start darting back and forth.
The crew prowls towards the secured area with one team below and one above on the catwalk. Twiggy uses her resonance accelerator to try and pull out whatever entity is powering up the Plasmovisions, but she’s not quick enough as the ground team is spotted and reinforcements arrive. The resonance entity gets sucked out of the contraption that was holding it but it holds on to the large steel cage. Dok leaps into action using his lock picks on the door, knowing there is a chance that he could get electrocuted from the echo. Success!
Meanwhile Keith and Helena have their hands full. Three mooks from the Plasmovision Shopping Network have arrived and one of them has a gun. Helena throws one of her patented euphoric mist grenades, but botches the release getting the hallucinogen all over herself and Keith. Two of the goons take turns walloping them until Keith pushes himself to take one as a human shield. Intoxicated and injured, Keith racks his silenced pistol and terminates the goon, but the armed one jumps around the corner. Keith’s gun jams and the goon unloads wildly striking Keith and his hostage before Keith can finish the job. Klaxons sound - Section 6 is on its way. They need to get out fast.
But before they go, Twiggy tries to make a connection with the echo, and learns that it has deteriorated considerably. It desires safety, comfort, and vengeance. Thinking she might be able to save it later, she captures it in her fine echo containment unit just as the gang is about to split.
